  1. My book is called The Boy on the Wooden Box, I picked this book because I have always been into anything about the holocaust. So far in this book the main character Leon is telling his perspective on what all he went through before the holocaust happened. Reading the beginning of this book it really didn't drag me in but as I read on it pulled me in more and more.

  2. The book that I choose to read is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I picked this book because I read A Thousand Splendid Sons which is his 2nd book and I really enjoyed reading the book and I wanted to see what his 1st book is about. So far the two main characters are Amir and Hassan and Hassan is Amir's servant and lives in a shack outside his house. Amir is not supposed to be friends with his servant but deep down Hassan is the only one that he hangs out with. Hassan got his face fixed by a plastic surgeon and the kite fighting tournament has began next winter. The beginning of the book was very slow and it didn't drag me to read it but it started to pull me more into the book and its starting to get a little better.

  3. I chose the book Money Ball by Michael Lewis and the reason I picked this book for my last one is because I wanted to end it reading something I like reading about. My book is about a former player named Billy Beane and he is hired by the Oakland Athletics to put together a winning team with Barley any money and right after their two best players left. He has to find a strategic way to get good players without spending all of their money and within just a couple months.

  5. I chose Black Brother Black Brother. It's a book Where the main charter (Donte) is a black kid in rich middle schooler and gets bullied by this kid how is "King Alen". He has a full blooded brother named Trey who is white. I think the only colored kid in the book is Donte. I chose this book because i hear about it and wanted to read it. So far I feel bad for Trey he feels like no one in the school likes him and bullies him besides from Trey, it's hard to not get mad when the principal calls to police when she was tired of dealing with him. Or the police where scared of the dad instead of they lawyer mom. Other then those moments I really like the book and hope it gets better for Donte

  7. I am reading Eleanor and Park. When I read the book before I read about 15 pages, I never really got into it, so I decided to pick it up again. I chose it because I wanted to finish it. I am glad I did, I enjoy the book a lot more then I did. The book is very interesting, it has two main characters. Eleanor and Park and their pov's switch every chapter. We start with Park on the bus and get introduced to the bullies and then the new girl Eleanor. Eleanor ended up sitting in the same seat as Park as everyone already had their own seat on the bus, and she had no where to sit. The book is really interesting as you get to learn about Eleanor's and Park's life. I am hooked in my book and want to continue reading to find out what happened next.

  8. My book that i chose is the silent patient, i chose this book because a couple of friends recommended it and it sounded really good. the process i took to find the book was looking up what it was about and then buying it. it just sounded interesting overall. the book starts off with the main character Alicia's diary, explaining why she was writing it. then it switches perspectives and starts to talk about how she paints and her husband Gabriel is a photography. then it flips to where it was explaining how Alicia killed her husband and never talked for years after. i was hooked right away because it is a fast moving book.

  10. My book is Game Changer by Neal Shusterman, i chose this book because it was the same author that wrote Scythe. I did not know what was getting myself into when picking this book. When starting the book i was confused why it seemed like a normal high school football book with drama, until he sacked a QB. Then small stuff changed like stop signs being blue. Each time he sacked a QB more and more stuff changed. He then went from living in the poor part of town to living in the gated community. The book is really confusing but is interesting seeing diffrent point of view.

She has so many questions about what is going on with her like why does she not have friends, why are people not calling her after a year long coma. Why did her family move to California the day she woke up from her coma, why is she not allowed to leave her house. I chose this one because she made it sound like a really great book, so I wanted t try it .My initial thoughts were this book is amazing, I am a very slow reader and i read about 50 pages in 45 mins. I was just very hooked on it from the start. It starts out with a little girl and her family on a snowy morning in February, they decided to go for a drive since school got canceled. They got into an accident and the parents both died, then the girl was able to see herself laying in the ditch and also walking around. I was very hooked in the beginning and I still am, it is a very great book! This is a phenomal book and I am very happy I choose this for my last book of high school!

  25. I chose Night by Elie Wiesel because I wanted to learn more about the Holocaust from someone who actually lived through it. I picked it after reading a short summary and because i wanted to read it last book but i did not get it and after realizing how powerful and real the story is. The book starts in Elie’s hometown where things seem normal at first. But everything changes quickly when the Nazis arrive. Elie and his family are forced out, and the fear and confusion are described so clearly it really pulls you in. Even though I’m only a few chapters in I can already tell this book will be emotional and intense but I’m ready to keep reading.

She is now going through school with failing grades and almost no friends because she will not speak up about what happened last year. I chose speak because it sounded interesting when i picked it up and read the summary. I did not have a process to find the book, I knew i had to find one that week, so my eye was out for any book to read. I seen Speak and it stood out to me. I think this book is easy to follow along with, there are headings on each page, so if out missed something or forget what's going on, they make it easier to get back on track. It starts off describing her life in school, and how she does not do good in it but also, how she does not like it much. I think this book is easy to get in to, and i think i am mild hooked onto this book.

The book is about a teen named Jeremy, who is considered uncool and gets bullied. Jeremy wants to go out with this girl Christine, but he isn't cool enough for her. Then he hears about this supercomputer pill called a SQUIP that will make him cooler. It is a relatively easy read for mean, which is nice considering how much time we have left. 36. My book is Prince Caspian by C.S Lewis. I chose this book because its a little bit shorter and I've never read a fantasy book before. Its like the second or third entry in the Narnia series, which I didn't know before picking it but it hasn't been too difficult to follow along with what's happened so far in the story. I don't know if I would say I'm hooked yet because the main kids haven't really encountered anything very fantastical yet but they're easy enough characters to follow and i like hearing about what they had accomplished in previous books.

    1. Its a pretty difficult thing to go straight to reading the middle of a series you don
't know about, so props for sticking with this book and still understanding the story line.

  37. I am reading King of Wraths. I choose this book because I had it at my house and I had all ready started to read it before class so I thought why start a new book when I can read the book I am already reading. The story gets you hooked pretty quick because they are in an arranged marriage and do not like each other and she doesn't know why they are and he is being blackmailed by her father. I am curious about what will happen in the end so I just want to keep reading to find out.

  38. I chose to read Night by Elie Wiesel because i like books about World War 2 and after talking with my friends they all said it was a really good book about World War 2. I also chose this book because i wanted to learn more about World War 2 and what actually happened inside the concentration camps and how the Germans treated the Jews. The process in which i wen through to find this books was just talking with my friends that had to read it if it was a good book, and if it represented WWII. I don't think there was a specific reason i chose this book other than it being about the war. My initial thoughts about the book is that it is a very gruesome book with a lot of detail about how the Germans were treating the Jews and what happened to them in the ghettos and when they first arrived at Auschwitz.

    1. I can also relate to your process of asking your friends if it is a good book, as my book was actually a recommendation by a close friend (Who also happened to buy me the set of my collection of Brandon Sanderson books).

  39. I am reading The Grace Year by Kim Liggett. I chose this book because I've heard really good things about it and it seemed like something I would like. I knew I wanted to read something girly and fun, and this seems kind of girly. All the girls have to go off and get rid of their magic together so that seems interesting. So far, I'm really enjoying this book. I think that my author is very good at using descriptive detail, which makes it a lot more interesting. In my book right now, the girls are all getting ready to go to their Grace Year, which is when they get sent to a forest to get rid of their magic. I'm excited to see how they will survive and if anyone will get caught by the poachers (people that hunt Grace Year girls). Overall, I think that this book is starting off really good and I'm excited to continue it!

  41. I choose the book Verity by Colleen Hoover, I choose this book because I've heard many good things about it and a lot of people have told me i need to read it. Although I've had this book sitting on my shelf at home I have never read it because i never really had the time or got the chance. The book had a very unusual start, it started with Lowen, the main character, she watched someone get hit by a car. But since she lives in New York no one really seemed to care because i guess that is something that happens quite often. She meets Jeremy who has a wife but i feel like he is very flirty with Lowen, so i am excited to see where there relationship goes.

  42. My book is The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson; I chose this book because I have been wanting to read it for quite a while and figured my best fight against continuing to procrastinate reading it would be to make it an assigned reading. I really like this book because of how easily I can relate it to a lot of my other past times, with one of my friends currently running a DND campaign in the very world this book is based in. I also really like this book because it does not shy away from showing the struggles of the characters, evening giving the reader such an unbridled view of their passions and weakness throughout the book, while not mincing words when it comes to the unsavory and sometimes-grisly scenes shown throughout. Overall, at this point in my reading I would highly recommend any book from The Stormlight Archive to anyone!

  43. Since this will be the last book i read in my school career, i wanted it to be a book that i actually gain knowledge from reading, not some pointless book with a pointless storyline. Which is why i chose to read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. This book was way different than how i expected it to be. It opened up a new way of thinking and going about life that i hadn't thought of before. Its shown me that school teaches you to work for money, but this book teaches you to have money work for you, and how to do it. I'm only just getting done with the first chapter and I'm not lying when i say that I've learned more from this book than high school has ever taught me.

    1. I am reading the same book, and I completely agree. This is a book that should be required to read in every business or English class before student's graduate. The school systems across America do a horrific job at teaching kids about money and how to manage it. If schools did a better job at this, I firmly believe America would be a much better place financially. This book teaches you how to get out of the rat race that almost every single person finds themselves in, working for money and owning money. You can never get ahead financially which leads you to becoming a slave to money. You shouldn't work for money, money should work for you.

  44. The book that I chose to read was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Kiyosaki is a well-known millionaire earning his wealth from real estate and other businesses he has started or ran throughout the years. I chose this book because it is known to be one of the best business books you can read. This is a book that everyone recommends you must read, and it was gifted to me by one of my financial advisors. I am very hooked so far because with it being a business minded book, it makes you think in different ways then any traditional book found in school. It changes your mindset completely as you read and that is what I like. So far, Robert Kiyosaki and his friend Mike are just nine years old, and they are set out to make money. The two friends go to Mikes Rich Dad for advice because Robert's dad is considered Poor Dad. Even though Roberts dad makes a very good income, he does not know how to manage his money or how to diversify and expand his net worth. However, Rich Dad (Mikes dad) owns multiple businesses and is very business minded. The huge motto for this book is to not become a slave for money. You shouldn't work for money, money should work for you.

  45. I chose The Formula by Joshua Robinson and Jonathan Clegg, i chose it because i was in a bookstore with my mom and i saw the cover, i like racing and F1 so i thought it would be cool to learn more about the history of the sport and find some new things out. So far i like it a lot, it has some very interesting things that i never knew about F1 like the early controverses and scandals, the book starts in the early stages of the sport so it will be cool to learn more things about modern F1.

  46. I chose the book Night by Elie Wiesel; I chose this book because it looked very interesting and also talks about a person's experience while being in the holocaust and also how he survived it. So far, the book is very interesting throughout the book you're in Elies's perspective and he describes all the horrible things that he sees, smells, tastes. And does a really good job trying to put the readers in his shoes. I've also learned a lot more about the holocaust and how bad Germans were to the Jews throughout the story Elie sees kids dumped in a pile and lit on fire he has seen SS officers beat jews to death, and saw his father who he looked up to scared for his life in the situation thinking there is no way out so I'm very curious on how Elie survives and what happens after the holocaust for elie

  47. I just started reading No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai. I picked it because I’ve been interested in books that go deep into emotions and the psychological ideals within people. My book was recommended to me by someone I used to work with. They described it as a “Mind F—k" and it intrigued me. The book so far is amazing. It starts with in-depth descriptions of how this is based on a true story and the main character, since birth, has never felt truly human. Specifically, how when they were young, they were never truly hungry or tired. They never felt guilt, shame, or true happiness because from birth they did not know what it meant to be human or how to form a relationship with other “humans.” The book goes on to explain how this develops in the main characters' youth. I am hooked.

  48. I am reading 'Night' by Elie Wiesel and i chose this book because i really enjoy learning about the holocaust and seeing the hardships they went through in this time when at this point and still it is the largest mass genocide ever. I am a little into the book now, but the book starts in Elies's hometown where everything was peaceful until all hell broke loose when the Nazis came and invade their town, the graphic secnes they explain in the first little bit of the book is stuff you will never forget. Like when they were throwing little babies in the air and shooting them for fun.

  49. I chose the book Night I chose it because I wanted to learn more about what happened at the concentration camps. The focus of this novel is that it describes Elie Wiesel's real life experiences while in the concentration camps. After reading the first initial chapters of the book my initial thoughts are that I think the book is starting of slow and it has been a little confusing with some of the different places . I hope that the book will eventually get more fast pace and more interesting.
