Blog Response #4

The endings of Chinese Handcuffs, Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, Running Loose, and Stotan! leave the reader with some unanswered questions. Chris Crutcher assumes the reader knows the ending, but he doesn't come out and say it.  You take control and write the overview of one more chapter to these books.  If there was one last chapter, what would it be about.  How would you tie up loose ends, if you were the author?

  1. Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes has a very unexpected ending to it. I do feel like I was left on a cliff hanger, but I also feel like there was so much information that was thrown at me in just one chapter. If I got the opportunity to write another chapter, I think I would call it, "Chapter Twenty, Staying for Myself" This would be a chapter that would explain each character and why they decided to stay. Why did Sarah Brynes stay in this world, why did she not end her live when things got hard? Why did Eric Calhoune not let Virgil Brynes kill him? And then all the other character would explain why they stayed in this life. Why did Mark Brittan not end it? There was so many times in this book that I could have seen suicides because their lives got hard. I know they all stayed for each other, but what made them stay for themselves?

    1. Addi these are all amazing questions, and, in my opinion, Sarah chose not to end her life no matter how bad it got because for one she didn't want to leave Eric behind but two she probably didn't want to make her father think she was weak and giving up.

      Delete
    2. Addy, I agree with you on all these questions. In my opinion, I think that Sarah chose not to leave her life because she wanted to see her mother again and she wanted to help get her father put in jail and serve a 20 year sentence. She also did not want to leave Eric alone because those two have there for each other through middle school and start of high school and leaving Eric would give Sarah guilt in heaven when looking down on Eric as his is continuing to live his life without his best friend Sarah. She also didn't want to give up because she didn't want to give into her father by showing him that he broke her when she was 3 years old, so she kept living and breathing and showing that she is strong enough to live her life even if it was in a psych unit for months and years.

    3. Your ideas for another chapter are something that would be a game changer i feel for the book. If you had to guess what would be your answers to your questions of why they didn
't end their lives or go through with what they were doing?

  2. In staying fat for Sarah Brynes Chris Crutcher did leave the end of the book a little questionable. He ended the book with Caver on t.v. explaining himself and Erics mom crying, to where Eric says use my college money to get him out. I think if there was one last chapter it would be Caver coming home if he could get out of jail, Eric showing more respect to carver because of the things Carver said and did for Eric and showing how much he loves him. I also think it would have an overview about how Sarah is with Lemry and her new kind of family that treats her with respect. Another thought is it would show how Jody and Erics relationship is going, like did they officially get together how they are doing, ect. Lastly i think i would tell us how Eric is swimming again and doing well in college and finally healing up and still hanging out with Sarah, Dale and Steve. I would tie up loose ends explaining why Sarah did not kill herself or why Mark didn't end his life when he got so close to it.

    1. Darcy i totally agree with this ending if you were to write another chapter. You mentioned alot of good pints on carver and coming home and how using erics college money to get him out of jail. I also think it would be good to add the relationship on jody and eric and how that ended up

    2. Darcy this ending sounds like a pretty good one considering i never read the book. What made you think of this ending and how do you think it would have helped people understand the ending more.

  3. If i wrote one more chapter, it would be about Sarah Lemry (Byrnes) getting the life she deserved after being adopted including her getting her face fixed and going to college and graduate then get to live normal lives and Eric gets the chance to lose all his extra weight because Sarahs face would be fixed.

    1. I like when a character is abused and hurt and has a hard life but pushes throw it and gets the life they deserve and I feel like a chapter like this would bring closure to the reader

      Delete
    2. Olivia and Darcy, I agree with you. If I could add one more chapter it would basically be about Sarah's new life with Lemry and her husband and Sarah realizing that she is safe and her new family will not hurt her like her dad did. It would also show that Sarah is realizing that Lemry and her husband will not leave her like her mother did and how she will embrace herself even if she doesn't get her face fixed.

      Delete
    3. Olivia, i feel this chapter would close a lot of questions for people and i think having a good ending with closure for people is a good way to end a book. How detailed would this chapter be or would it be aa quick chapter?

      Delete
    4. I agree I would have liked Sarah to fix her face so she can feel beautiful. She said she wasn't a fan of getting the surgery but if there were another chapter I hope it'd be a time skip, and she got it fixed. I also wish we could see Eric lose the weight as well.

  4. Running Lose it really wasn't a cliff hanger because he ended it. The last chapter of the book was a good ending and was well finished and put together at the end. But if I was to write my own, but that write a chapter at the end of the book I would write about life after him graduating but that would so long and would be a another book by itself. Because it's hard to write another chapter at the of the book because he wrote about Louie running track and then Louie graduating and I think that was a good enough ending for the book.

    1. I agree with you louies life after highschool would be important to see how the lessons from all the people around him shaped him into the man he is and if he grew up or if he's still destroying plagues

    2. I do agree that I think Crutcher ended Running Loose pretty well, but I do also really want to see what life Louie led after the book's conclusion.

      Delete
    3. I agree with this and would've liked to know what Louie's life was like after high school. It would be very interesting to know.

  5. Running loose had a great ending to it. The race between Louie and Washington was intense and it disappointed me that Chris Crutcher didnt do anything with this topic. If it was me I would have added another race to the end of the book like a state race between wash and Louie or even just Louie making it to state and racing. A scene like this would make the ending ten times better because the one with Washington had me at the edge of my seat read faster to see what would happen and a race at state would be so much more intense and exciting.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well Louie did go to the regionals and placed 4th in state and Washington didn't do it even though he qualified because he respected Loie and didn't want to race Louie because he knows Louie can go faster and farther then him.

      Delete
    2. I agree that it was a great thing of respect for Washington to not race in the 2 mile because Louie did not make it to state. I feel there is some unanswered questions like will Louie continue to run track in college? Or will he even go to college?

      Delete
    3. I do agree, I think the race could've had far more importance to the story with all the presence of how important Washington was in the earlier parts of the book.

  6. Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher ended the book a little questionable and had a very unexpected ending. After reading the last sentence of the end of the book I felt that I was left on a cliff hanger, but I understand why Chris ended the book that way. The book ended with Carver explaining himself on T.V. on why he attacked Mr. Byrnes and Eric's mom crying about Carver being in jail and night and over the weekend and when Carver was arrested Eric told his mom to tell his mom to use his college fund to get Carver a lawyer to get him to stay out of prison. If I got the opportunity to write the next chapter it would be called "Sarah's new Future" this chapter would be about Sarah's new life at adulthood with her new family with Lemry and her husband. This chapter would explain why Sarah, after the multiple attempts of suicide why she chose to not end her life when she wanted to and the reason behind why she stayed with her dad after the incident. This added chapter would also include Carver hopefully getting out of jail and Eric fully respecting him after getting Mr. Byrnes 20 years in prison for burning Sarah and almost killing her mother and the most recent accident, him almost killing Eric with a knife. It would also show how Sarah is adjusting to her new life with her new family and how she would become a better person with new people in her life. Another thought is Eric's and Jody's relationship. If they stay together or if Jody just stays with Mark which I am pretty sure she stays with Mark. Another thing that I would add in the new chapter is how Eric is doing at his college and if his new swim coach was able to get Eric to lose some weight and make him fit again. I would also add how his swimming is going in college and if he has won any competitions. I would also add how he stays friends with Sarah, Dale, Ellerby, and Steve. The last thing that I would tie up in the new chapter is why Sarah didn't end her life when attempting suicide and why Mark when he OD why he didn't want to end his life when he was close to it due to Eric and Ellerby not leaving him alone.

    3. Addison, I agree with you! I feel that it would have been a better ending if we got to see how Sarah is now. I feel that she would be less on the look out wondering where her father is next. But, do you think that you would want another chapter to show what is it like when he gets out of jail?

  7. I just finished staying fat for sarah brynes. I loved this book becuase it had alot of information but i thouhght there would be answers throughout the book but it left a cliff hanger and then alot of information right at the end. If i got to write another chapter at the end i would explain sarahs thoughts and why she chose to stay. Because throughout the book i thoiught multiple times sarah was going to commit sucide. I also would add saarah having the life she deserved all along. Letting her ecperiance her life with joy and not worrying about her homelife and the trama she had to deal with. Something that i think would be important to add with Eric and his emotions throughout especially when he says let me give you my college money.

    1. I also think that they should've talked more about what was happening to Sarah especially what was happening to her mentally after she left the hospital and was staying with Lemry.

    2. I also wonder what made Sarah stay alive for so many years. She had a very hard life, I was just surprised to see her live to the end of the book. I was also shocked she didn't try to run away. This was a pretty good book, I also wish we could see Sarah having a good life now that her dad is gone.

    3. Cece, I had the same thoughts while reading, like why did she not just end her life. I am glad I was able to read her experience of getting through hard things and I think it made me believe that we may complain bout life but others have it worse. Do you think these traumatic experiences made you a better person?

  8. If I were to finish writing Running Loose, I think I would end it with a glimpse at where Louie would be in the future, maybe a few years after the event of the book, or even in his adult life. I think it would be very interesting and would give some closure to the book, especially if I could reflect on where all the characters ended up. I think a lot of the loose ends would be tied up if characters like Carter, Boomer, Lednecky, Madison, and Louie had fleshed out futures that the reader gets a glimpse of. That being said, I do think the ending was done very well, since throughout the book the reader is talked to with a 3rd person view, and then finally at the end we get a first-person narrative from Louie, showing how the book has come full circle.

  10. In the book Running Loose the ending was pretty good and I wasn't left wondering a bunch of questions. The only thing I was left wondering was hoe Louie's life was after high school. I would like to know what that summer looked for Louie and what he did to keep him self busy. Crutcher could have talked about Carter at the end and say what he was doing the next for school and if he was going to play college football. He also could have said what Louie did the next year whether he went to college for track or not or if he just kept working at the station. During the book Louie said that we wanted to get out of trout and I was left wondering if he ever did,

  12. At he ending of the book Chinese handcuffs, it ended on Jen telling the police on her step dad and Dillion ending his letter to Preston. I think the book leaves everyone wondering how everyone feels after he is gone, do they feel relieved or not? If there was one more chapter it would be chapter 17 and i would have it talk about how Jens family is doing right now with out the step father around and everything happening. I would tell how Dillion is dealing with everything and if he ever recovers from his sprained ankle. I would end in a little letter to Preston with Dillion telling him how he feels about everything that happened in his life, to tie every loose end p that the story has.

    2. Grace, I was wondering the same thing, like how is Jen and her family doing. I would also add about Dillon and Jen's relationship because they kind of leave it on a cliff hanger allowing the reader to decide if they want them to be together or separated.

  13. In the Story Stotan it has a very interesting ended and leaves the reader with a lot of unanswered questions. If I were the author, I would add a short chapter just seeing how Jeff is doing in a few years' time with the condition he was in. It would be interesting to see What Happened with Walker and Devnee and if he told her the truth about how he felt. I would like to see what max ends up doing since there will not be a swim team for the school and what he wants to do now. What Nortie wants to do with his life is also something i would like to see

  14. Chinese Handcuffs has many loose ends that are left unsolved. If I were Chris Crutcher and decided to write another chapter at the end of Chinese Handcuffs I would tie up many of the loose ends. I would write about the relief Jen and her family feels after TB left and how it effects them. I also would include how Jen and Dillon's relationship is going and how it has changed since TB left. Another thing left unfinished is Stacy's child, I would include how Dillon and his father become a part of the child's life due to it being Preston's child.

    2. I haven't read Chinese Handcuffs, but your ideas for an extra chapter sound thoughtful. Focusing on Jen's relief after TB leaves, her relationship with Dillon, and how they move forward would bring closure. Including Dillon and his father supporting Stacy's child would be a heartfelt way to honor Preston’s memory.

  15. I read Chinese Handcuff and there was a few loose ends but none that truly affected the end of the true plot of the story. If I was Chris Crutcher, I would have added something about Jen and Dillon's relationship because they left off that they were mad at each other but they need something about if they were friends, nothing, or in a relationship. Also, I would add where the baby went after it was placed up for adoption because I wondered if the baby was going to stay close to them that they could go see them. I would have also added what happened when TB got arrested.

  16. I read Running Loose and I think the book ended at the perfect point and there were no loose ends. I just hoped that Chris Crutcher would tell us what Louie ended up doing after high school and if he decided to continue track or if he quit. I would have liked to see what happened to his friends like Carter and if he continued to keep playing football and if he got a scholarship to play at a decent college. 17. I have finished Stotan by Chris Crutcher and he leaves the reader with many unfinished question such as the question about jeffs health and his blood disease. If I were to write the last chapter of this book I would have Jeff die and the other kids would do something special to recognize him at there school. After this I then would put in that Max tries to reconnect with his family and he becomes a bigger part of there family and becomes a father figure to the kids. At the end of the story I would leave a cliff hanger basically having Nortie talk to his father and ask him why he abused him and his mother and the story would end once he starts to sit down and talk with his dad

  19. If Running Loose had one more chapter it could show Louie finding closure and moving forward. He might visit Becky’s grave reflecting on how much she meant to him and how her memory gives him strength. Instead of holding onto anger he accepts what happened and chooses to move on. Louie could also have a final encounter with Coach Lednecky standing his ground and showing how much he has grown. Without seeking revenge Louie’s confidence would make it clear that he’s stronger for standing up for what’s right. The chapter could end with Louie at his first college track meet symbolizing a fresh start. By running toward his future he honors Becky’s memory and proves that even in the face of loss life goes on.

  21. When reading Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes I found a few things that I would definitely change. Firstly, I wasn't a fan of the ending specifically how rushed it was. Chris Crutcher should have added another chapter going more into detail about what happened to Virgil Byrnes, Sarah, and Eric's relationship with Jody. The end didn't really give the reader any closure or even remotely follow up on what the future would look like. It doesn't specify how many years Virgil Byrnes would get (just said 20+), my question was if Virgil does get out of prison, what will the rest of them do? Secondly, I was disappointed that we didn't get to see what Sarah's plan for the future was. The epilogue had said she was going to college but didn't say what she was going for. Lastly, I wanted to know what happened between Eric and Jody. He said they were trying to stay together but I want to know if they actually stay together. I think this book would have been so much better if there were a time skip at the end to wrap everything up.

  22. If I were to rewrite the ending for Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes I would change a few things. How he ended the book felt more like he ended the book that way because he had to and not actually ending the story. I think a way that could be fixed is by ending the story earlier. I feel like the ending would've been better with an abrupt ending then the ending it has now. I think the better option would have been to put more details/explanations in his ending. I think it would've been better with more explanations on Sarah's relationship with Lemry and on what happened to Sarah's dad after he got sent to the hospital.

  23. I read Chinese Handcuffs and I don't really have a ton of questions but something I wish I knew more about was about T.B and if he actually ended up getting arrested. So I would add one more chapter of T.B getting arrested and talking and showing us how his life was in prison and him getting the punishment he deserves. I also would have this chapter be about Jen getting the justice she deserves after everything she went through, especially since it happened more than once in her life. I also want to know how she is doing in life after all the trauma she went through and I wonder if she finally decided to get help for it and let Dillon help her. I feel like having more information about this at the end of the book would be good because we never got to hear much about how T.B and Jens life turned out and what each of them now have to go through.

I feel like the ending would have been better if it wrapped up loose ends. Like how is Nortie after high school and what happen with there life's. It makes me feel like he finished the book too quickly and could have added more. One character is overview is Max the best character ever. He is a quiet warrior and has added so much to the story. I would end the confusion if i wrote the last chapter of the book Stotan. I would write about Jeff dying from his blood Disease, but he died with everyone around him as they pulled the plug because he was in too much pain. 28. In the end of Running loose it ends on a cliffhanger about what will happen to louis after he destroys his girlfriend's memorial plaque for the second time. In my final chapter, I would explain the outcome, whether or not he gets in trouble for it and whether the other characters think its right. The first time he destroyed the memorial we didn't really know how others felt about it or if others felt the same way he did, with everyone pretty much deciding to just not talk about what he did. So getting to see how he could be punished or if other characters thought he was justified would add quite a bit to ending the plotline with his girlfriend. And if he is punished, how he knows he needs to learn from his impulsiveness, which I thought was one of his most prominent traits.

    1. i agree i would have liked to see if he got punished the 2nd time

    2. i disagree i feel like that would be a boring ending to such a big build up

  29. I'm happy louis at least got a win by having a fair race with Washington at the end, even if he couldn't make it to state. I just also wish we could've seen where his track career could've gone in the future.

  30. The ending of Stotan was most definitely filled with questions about Jeff, and about how Walker the narrators life had been filled up to this point, but Chris Crutcher does kind of leave a note ate the very end about how he's going to set things straight with Devnee. So therefore, if there was another final chapter after that, i think it would include how Walker handles breaking up with his current girlfriend as well as how he tells the group of his friends about his feelings for Elaine. And if all goes well for him with Devnee and the guys, i think he for sure has a very real chance to get with Elaine.

    1. I agree with parts of this statement. However, I think Walker will realize that Elaine is not a good fit for him and his feelings for Devnee will come back after he stops thinking about Elaine the way he was. Also, what do you think happens to Jeff? Does he continue fighting his battle? Or does his sickness take over and ultimately cause him to pass?

    2. I agree that he should of talked about what happened with Walker and Devnee and Elaine, i also think he should've cleared up thing about Nortie's family and what happened with his dad and his mother.

  31. For the ending of Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, it felt very rushed. Chris Crutcher kind of tied up loose ends, but did it all in one epilogue. If I could rewrite the end of the book, I would add another chapter, diving deeper into each of the characters and how they did after the events of the book. I wish we saw more of what happened to Eric and the other high school students. I would've turned the epilogue into a glimpse into a couple months into the future, so there is still an epilogue. The biggest thing that bothered me with the end is that we don't get to see what happens to Mark or Dale at all, which is weird considering their redemptions,

  32. The way I think Chris Crutcher would have ended Stotan if he were to write one more chapter as a wrap up would be as follows. First, Walker finally comes to the realization that he will never date Elaine because of their friendship, and he cannot see himself ever dating her. He will continue dating Devnee and start to have his original feelings for her again after clearing up the previous roadblock with thinking Elaine was the girl for him. Both Walker and Devnee will go to the same college and Walker will swim on a team. Also, I unfortunately think that Jeff would die in the chapter given his condition when the book ends. He becomes more and more frail and weak every single day. His body can only handle it for so long before it shuts down. Leukemia will eventually take Jeff away and the group will have to try and cope with the loss.

    1. that would be a good ending to wrap up the story so everyone isn't confused on what happens after

    2. I agree with this last chapter and would have enjoyed if Chris Crutcher would have explained all of this out rather than kind of just ending it how he ended it with almost no explanation of how they went on with their lives after high school, you could almost just make a whole book off of their lives after high school.

  33. In stotan! I really wish there was another chapter. At the end of the book, they were at state and said they were so close to winning, but it didn't actually say, and I don't know why. Unfortunately, I don't think they would have won state simply because there are only 3 people on the team now since Jeff is sick. They also broke the rules in the relay. I respect that they swam for a tribute to Jeff, but if you break the rules, you are done. I also wish Crutcher said something about jeff in the very end other than 'he's not getting better' I don't think sadly we would have survived because of how bad his leukemia is but, i feel like its sad just not knowing because everyone in the book is just accepting that he's dying when he still has a chance of getting better. Walter, the main character, needs to actually make his mind up about his girlfriend. Throughout most of the book, he's been trying to break up with him, and he's too chicken to do it. I would make him put on his big boy pants and do it if it's bothering him so bad. If he did, would I make him get with his crush Elaine? No. They would not last or even start, for that matter. It's been clear that she only sees him as a friend. Lastly Nortie. I want Nortie to open his eyes and actually see he's not like his dad. He wants to be a teacher, and he lashed out at a kid once, and he never went back. Now he's in phycology? His true passion is teaching, and I want to give that to him. I really wish Chris Crutcher clarified on these topics/people, but I guess it just keeps me thinking.

  34. in running loose by Chris Crutcher, it ends with a cliff hanger like they could have kept on writing the book for another 80 pages. i would explain the ending of this book with his girlfriend dies and he is devastated by that, and he goes out for track practices by himself and runs in the state race and finishes 3rd but before that has never lost a race. i would write the last chapter as louie continues to run track in collogue and has fun but goes to collogue for coaching football to insure his incident doesn't happen to other kids. i would explain carter and boomers endings also

  35. in staying fat for sarah brynes i would tie up loos ends by stating what happens in a future like a chapter from a 10 years later point of view. i thin kit would give insight on how much each charqaacter really changed. it would show what people only changed for the bit back in highschool and cho changed for real

  36. in the book running loose it had a good ending. I wasn't left with any unanswered questions because Louie beat Washington in a fair 2 mile race. At the end i don't think that it was a cliff hanger because everyone knew what he was going to go do.

  37. Great thoughts but what do you think his life would be 10 years down the road and how much do you think his life changed in that time

  38. i would end the final chapter with Louie breaking the plaque and jasper accusing him of it but coming up with no evidence. i find this to be a perfect ending for him standing up for what he thinks is right again. i would have like to known how his summer went and his plans after high school. i also wish i could have seen carters ending and if he ended up getting a scholarship. but overall i liked how the book ended.

  39. In the end of Chinese handcuffs the book shows Dillon's version to the end but not Jen's. I would add a ending chapter for her to see how she's doing and if she is getting the help she needs.

    1. Hope, this sounds like it would be an amazing chapter!

  40. In Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes, I did not really like the ending. It was left on a cliffhanger and I did not like that. I want to know what happened next. So if I were to write the next chapter it would be about Sarah's life after getting adopted and more into the future of her life.

    1. That sucks that it was left as a cliffhanger. It would be nice to finish the book to see how Sarah is in her life after the adoption.

  41. In the end if Chinese Handcuffs I would like to have one more chapter. It ended with the epilogue with T.B. going to prison, but I would love to hear what happened to Jen. We did not get anymore information about her, so if there was another chapter I would love to know how is she doing in her life.

  42. In Chinese Handcuff if there was one more chapter i think Chris Crutcher should talk about what Jennifer was feeling after TB went to prison and what happens to her. I think he could also talk more about Dillon and if he ever gets better after Prestons passing.

  43. In the ending of Stotan Chris Crutcher definitely left some question about Walker and Devnee and Walker needing to straighten things out with her. If i wrote one more chapter for the book Stotan i would write about how Walker straightened things with Devnee and also talk about if they had any college offers and if they accepted the offers, Also I think i would of wrote about what happened with Nortie's family. Like if Nortie ended up going back to his house with his father and also if his mother went back to him again or if they actually stayed away from the abuse.

    1. Yeah i agree with this last chapter it would be an interesting end of the book and i also agree that he should have cleared up all of Norties backstory with his dad and mom.

  44. The ending to Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes was confusing, I get they couldn't find Sarah Byrnes dad but they should've and put him in jail. If there was one more chapter I would like them to find Sarah Byrnes dad and arrest him, because Eric said at the end of the book that in seven years his loved ones would have to worry about Mr. Byrnes all over again. So I'd rather have the last chapter if there was one more all about them finding Mr. Byrnes and arresting him for everything he has done to Sarah Byrnes and Eric for lying to him and not telling him where Sarah Byrnes is because Eric was trying to protect Sarah Byrnes.

  45. If I were to finish the book Running loose i would write the final chapter and call it ch.19 i did it in Becky's name. in the chapter i would show him progressing more in track and continuing on after Becky's death i would take the time to really show how much her death impacted him and his mindset while pushing himself in track. as the chapter would continue there would be different challenges that would test Louie's patience and dedication to track i would most likely end the chapter with Louie possibly making it to state and then saying he owes it all to Becky

  47. I read Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes by Chris Crutcher. The ending was very shocking to me, I was very surprised that Sarah got adopted by Mrs. Lemery. I really do wish they gave more detail about thee adoption process just because it left me a little confused. Overall the book was okay, I would not read it again but it was tolerable.

  48. we finished the book chineses handcuffs by chris crutcher personally i would not read the book again, i didnt like the letters i think the two stories were good and dillion and jen both helped eachother out to get through their struggles. dillon is getting jen help and jens helping dillion out with his brother passting away. dillion apologized to the neighbor for killing her cat. but dillion felt gulty about being able to help jen out with her gettign abused but not ever help preston dillons brother out and he feels like he coulsve help preston so he didnt commit suicide.

  49. I read the book 'Stotan' and if i were to add another chapter to the book i would have a recruiter for a college recruit the four of them and have them go on to college and explain what accolades they get throughout there colligate career. Plus another cool thing they could do is have some news company have them explain there stories because of how interesting there high school lives were with all their bumps on the road and their 'Stotan' stories.

  50. The ending of running losse was really good there was a big change when Becky dies my favorite thing about the book is how to the end of the book he did good it his track meet how he doesn't get first but doesn't get last its like happy but not the best ending

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think if I were to add another chapter to the book Running loose, I would talk about how his first meet goes for track in college and how he's not in high school anymore and to forget the past and start fresh. And also talk about how Louie feels as he moves forward how he deals with Becky's death and how he continues to stop grieving about her death.

  52. i read the book stotan by Chris Crutcher. if Chris asked me to right another chapter and finish out the book id let everyone know what happens with jeff and how he is doing. i would also like to figue out what happens with walker and devein. some insight on the wheeler family would be nice to know as well. i would write it as ms wheeler dumping mr wheeler.
